About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Open Source Developer. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python-based web application development, hands-on experience with modern backend frameworks, and a passion for contributing to open-source technologies. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a distributed work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and backend services.

• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.

• Collaborate with front-end developers to deliver seamless user experiences.

• Work with PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, optimization, and performance tuning.

• Contribute to and maintain open-source projects and repositories.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and performance optimization.

• Manage source code using Git and follow collaborative development workflows.

• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Python development.

• Strong experience with one or more Python frameworks:

  • CherryPy

  • Flask

  • FastAPI

• Solid experience with PostgreSQL database design and development.

• Exposure to front-end technologies such as React.js and Node.js.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, API integrations, and web services.

• Proficiency with Git and version control best practices.

• Experience working with Linux-based development environments.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote setup.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active contributor to open-source projects.

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms.

• Understanding of software architecture and scalable application design.
