Job Description – Test Lead / QA Lead (Microsoft Power Platform)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Test Lead / QA Lead to drive the quality assurance function for Microsoft Power Platform solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and executing the overall testing strategy, leading end-to-end testing activities, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality business solutions across Power Apps, Power Automate, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute test plans to validate data pipelines, transformations, and Snowflake data models for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

• Perform data validation and reconciliation between source systems and Snowflake, along with report/dashboard-level testing of Power BI outputs, including visuals, DAX calculations, and filters.

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts (SQL-based or using tools like Python, DBT tests) to streamline regression and data quality testing.

• Log, track, and manage defects through resolution, collaborating closely with data engineers, BI developers, and architects.

• Bring 7+ years of QA experience in data/BI projects, strong SQL skills, familiarity with Snowflake and Power BI, and experience with test management tools such as JIRA and TestRail.

• Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.

• Lead System Integration Testing (SIT), regression testing, release validation, and end-to-end testing activities.

• Plan, coordinate, and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT), working closely with business users and stakeholders.

• Manage test environments, test data, and environment refresh cycles to ensure testing readiness.

• Lead defect triage meetings, prioritize defects, and collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution.

• Define and monitor quality gates for releases, ensuring solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.

• Oversee test automation initiatives where applicable, improving testing efficiency and coverage.

• Ensure end-to-end quality across Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI.

• Track and report quality metrics, test execution progress, defect trends, and release readiness to project stakeholders.

• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Developers, and Project Managers to support successful project delivery.

• Identify testing risks and recommend mitigation strategies to minimize project impact.

• Promote QA best practices, testing standards, and continuous process improvement across projects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a Test Lead, QA Lead, or Senior Test Engineer.

• Strong experience in System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and release management.

• Experience testing Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI.

• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), Agile, and DevOps methodologies.

• Experience with defect management and test management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar platforms.

• Knowledge of test automation frameworks and automation tools is highly desirable.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications ( Good To Have )

• Microsoft Power Platform certifications.

• Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines and CI/CD.

• ISTQB or equivalent software testing certification.

• Experience with enterprise digital transformation or cloud-based business applications.
